Meet Roberta aka Berta – Cabot’s original marketing composer and seasonal conductor of the world-class Brand team talent. She joined Cabot 1988 and is slowly exiting to pursue her next career in the art of Aging and Hospice work. It’s hard for Berta to put down her Holstein baton permanently because she loves the farmers almost as much as her own children, family and the Cabot marketing team. (Can you guess who on board is her sister?)
Before Cabot, she leveraged her imagination and program ideas for the San Francisco Opera, the National Endowment for the Arts, among others, and was instrumental in the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Washington, D.C. Through a series of serendipitous events, the dedication is what brought Roberta to Vermont in the first place.
Berta grew up as an Army brat and spent much of her youth making new friends every year in a different city inside and outside the United States. As Cabot’s Marketing SVP, she conceived of the Cabot Community Celebrity Cruise as well as the other programs in our Gratitude Department because she believes strongly that we need to do marketing differently as a cooperative and a B Corp. "We honor and replicate our farmers volunteer service in their communities with our brand programs designed to honor volunteers in the communities where our farmers’ dairy products are sold. This commitment to community is our testament to Co-op principle #7 – Concern for Community. We honor those who buy our cheese and just maybe, redefine what true Celebrity means.”
Be warned, Berta will be on perpetual SASH patrol – she knows the conversations that the sashes start. And she’ll want to know your ideas on how we can express our farmers' gratitude to more good, good people just like you.
