I’m just a regular everyday person who makes her share of mistakes. But I always find a way to learn from them – and I always strive to own up to the ones I make.
A Philadelphia native and veteran radio personality, Marilyn brings her listeners what they want... a woman's perspective! With nearly 20 years broadcast experience; Marilyn has been lucky enough to form incredible relationships with female members of the media, public relations, music industry, the arts as well as professional businesswomen from all walks of life. She is the host of BEN-FM's "Marilyn In The Morning" radio program that airs 5am-9am each weekday, and Marilyn also hosts the ever-popular "Women Of The Week" public affairs program that profiles and celebrates women throughout the Greater Philadelphia area every Sunday on BEN-FM. Truth be told, Marilyn is a bit of a social media junkie – a true Twitter addict - who we're sure will be ‘Tweeting' stories about all our fabulous Celebrities!
Known and appreciated for the enormous amounts of charity work she does, Marilyn is quick to point out that she has two favorite charities that she loves to support. The first is quite literally near and dear to her heart – The American Heart Association – because she has a heart murmur. And the other is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. As she points out, "Both organizations can count on me 365-days-a-year!" Marilyn also loves advocating for women, stating emphatically, "Don't get me wrong, I love men, but in many ways it's still a man's world out there, and I'm still the only girl sitting at the microphone by myself here in Philly each morning. I do a lot of volunteer work for the Women's Resource Center to help women succeed and I'm very proud of the recent award they gave for championing women's causes. It is a true honor."
Marilyn is one of four siblings. She is a mother to one amazing teenage son, Matthew, noting that, "He's my proudest moment and the best thing I have EVER done!" Her interests include: music, travel, dining out, movies, shopping, an occasional glass of fine wine, and her favorite Philly Food is... a nice warm soft pretzel!
Accompanying Marilyn on the cruise is her best friend, Clare Morrison.
"I'm honored to be joining so many amazing volunteers on the cruise and I look forward to learning more about all the great deeds they do," she says.
Don't hesitate to say hello to Marilyn - but chances are she'll beat you to the punch!
