I volunteer to share the blessings I have been given. I am fueled by the good works of the women in my group and by the impact we see in our community by joining together our time, talents and resources. Charity Chics celebrates 10 years of volunteerism this year.

Charity Chics was founded in 2009 as a grassroots women’s networking group that raises money and community awareness for local charities. The Chics enjoy philanthropic giving with other like-minded business women who come together to give, serve, love and learn while ‘connecting for a cause’! As co-owner, Karen has served the group for 10 years, all as volunteer. This year the Chics charities include: Fulfill Your Destiny, Kids & Canine’s, End68Hours of Hunger, Answered Prayers Cross, and a local American Cancer Society Walk.
Karen also coordinates a volunteer bulletin board club at her children’s school. She works with the teachers and a group of 24 Moms to create the monthly designs and their installation. "Moms can serve by shopping for supplies, doing lettering on our Cricut machine, printing, installing the designs or serving on the take-down crew," she says. "It's a fun way to assist the teachers and get to know the other families at their school."
After graduating High School in Idaho in 1985, Karen moved to Boston, MA to work as a live-in nanny for 11 years. She is looking forward to traveling back to New England as well as reconnecting with Cabot friends and fellow volunteers.
