I just love to cook and to see the bright, eager faces in the school cafeteria every day.
Cooking and nutrition have long been a big part of Joanne's life, so after she retired, she completed a two-year culinary course at a local college to refine her skills even more. She volunteers three days a week at the Wyoming Area Catholic school system and helps in the cafeteria, where her insights and talent bring better and tastier food to approximately 90 school children every day.
During the months of November and December, Joanne also shops for toys for underprivileged children for an organization called Valley Santa. Joanne is also active in her church, where she is president of the Women's Club. She volunteers at a soup kitchen each month and also helps with fundraising.
