When you’re a teacher, it’s not just a matter of academics. You have to nurture and look at the whole child.
Geraldine Morrison, call her "Geri," has spent a lifetime as an educator. Geri started her career as an elementary school teacher. She soon became part of the St. Pius X Catholic School family, where she taught for almost two decades before becoming the assistant principal and ultimately the school's principal.
As principal, Geri knew every student by name, met with most of their parents personally, and was instrumental in helping countless families get tuition aid to attend the school. Always taking the longer view, Geri knew that if she could engage the parents, the students would follow. She not only embraced academics, she looked at the whole child and did whatever was needed to make him or her succeed.
