God has a plan for all of us, and we all have challenges to face. I think he also gives us the strength and resources to meet and overcome those challenges.
Dwight was a teacher and football coach when at the age of 24, he was in a horrible car accident. A 77-year-old drunk driver crashed into Dwight's vehicle, changing his life forever. He is permanently paralyzed from the waist down. But Dwight found the courage to turn tragedy into triumph, and he has become an inspirational speaker, sought after throughout the state of Mississippi and beyond.
Dwight partnered with MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and he speaks at high schools throughout the state. He speaks several times a week at jails, before groups of disabled people, at schools and municipal gatherings, and before rehab groups. He also works closely with the Attorney General's office of Mississippi and speaks before corporations that are trying to comply with the ADA (the Americans with Disabilities Act).
