Never be afraid to help. Bring your talents to the table, and bring them often, because you never know when you are going to touch somebody’s life.
-Bretton Gallashaw
Bretton is another half of the dynamic duo that makes up the Gallashaw twins, who are both Cabot Community Celebrities for their work with the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. The twins were raised by their mother and grandmother and Bretton says the two women instilled a strong sense of community and giving back throughout their childhood.
Much like his brother Brandon, Bretton discovered the Ronald McDonald House during high school and has continued to go back every week since. Bretton enjoys interacting with folks staying at the house, but also works behind the scenes to make sure the non-profit’s computers are in perfect working order, and the kitchen and play areas are tidy for the families to enjoy.
“The house is such a warm environment, everybody is friendly and you can feel the warmth,” said Bretton. “The feeling rubs off on you and stays with you. And it's great that I get to share that with my brother, and we can volunteer as a team.”
Also like his brother, Bretton is in Information Technology, working for Moss Rehabilitation at Einstein Medical Center. Bretton says no matter the career or talent you possess, you have to share it to help others.
"Never be afraid to help," says Bretton. "Bring your talents to the table, and bring them often, because you never know when you are going to touch somebody’s life."
In his free time Bretton loves hanging with friends, singing in the choir on weekends, and going to baseball games. The twins will be traveling on the cruise together. If you want to tell them apart, remember Bretton is the LEFT handed brother!
