You have to live life to the fullest, and along the way you have to help others
so they can live their lives to the fullest, too.
Brandon is half of the dynamic duo that makes up the Gallashaw twins, who are both Cabot Community Celebrities for their work with the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. Brandon’s community service started while attending an area Catholic school that brought students to the Ronald McDonald house to volunteer. The experience made such an impact for Brandon that he continued to go back. A decade later, he and his brother still spend their Friday nights there.
“I know it’s a tough time for the families there and I want to help out in any way I can,” said Brandon. “I love putting a smile on people’s face and helping out the kids doing whatever I can.”
Brandon loves working closely with people, hosting video game nights for the kids and giving tours to incoming families. He loves spending time with the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and hopes the shared conversations, laughter and caring sentiments improve their days as much as they improve his own.
“It makes you realize that you can’t take life for granted, and makes you appreciate life even more,” said Brandon. “You have to live life to the fullest, and along the way you have to help others so they can live their lives to the fullest, too.”
Brandon works as an Information Technology Service Analyst at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. It’s a career path he credits to his time at the Ronald McDonald House, blending his love of IT with his passion for helping families and kids.
In his spare time, Brandon loves going to baseball games, bowling, and traveling when he can. The twins will be on the cruise together. If you want to tell them apart, remember that Brandon is the RIGHT handed brother!
