“Volunteering allows me to contribute in a way that pushes my goals forward while also helping others realize a better tomorrow.”
Kaeleigh Barker has been connected to cooperative business for over a decade. Having worked in cooperative research and content development, she now directs communications for Cooperatives for a Better World, a compelling cooperative initiative founded by CCA Global Partners’ co-founder and Co-op Hall of Fame leader Howard Brodsky. CCA Global Partners consists of 13 divisional businesses under one cooperative purchasing and shared services umbrella. Like National Cooperative Bank, CCA Global is a sponsor of our Reward Volunteers program. Barker has dedicated herself to elevating awareness of the cooperative business model, working with national and global partners to amplify the Cooperatives for a Better World initiative by developing greater cooperative awareness particularly as it relates to Co-op Principle #7 (do side bar on all co-op principles) and co-op concern for strengthening communities. She knows that with volunteers and their non-profits have a lot in common with the community commitment co-ops and credit unions share. On a more personal note, Kaeleigh helps run a program at CCA that busses Big Brother Big Sister kids to office for an hour each week, a commitment CCA Global has made for over the past five years. She coordinates activities and learning plans and also coaches fellow employees on the fundamentals of mentoring.
A former world class Toastmaster, Kaeleigh is traveling on board with her husband Christopher and looks forward to actively connecting what we can do together to enhance public knowledge, appreciation, and participation in the cooperative movement as a support to the work of volunteers.
