Life’s not easy for anybody. It helps ease the path, however, when you have friends and family in your corner.
Not quite two years ago, Cindy's dear friend Chris had a failing liver and was in desperate need of a transplant. Cindy never hesitated. She underwent a rigorous course of testing to confirm a match, and then in an act of remarkable generosity, she offered most of her own liver to save her friend's life. Cindy underwent the operation, and Chris received two-thirds of her liver that same day. Everything went according to plan. Cindy spent the next week in the hospital and missed about six weeks of work, but within two months her liver had regenerated and returned to full size and capacity. Chris recovered fully over the next year and is back to work, with no restrictions on her life.
